Mercedes Independent School District Bus Involved in Accident; No Students Injured
Dear Mercedes families:
The administration was alerted this afternoon, Tuesday, December 12 that a Mercedes Independent School District school bus was involved in a traffic accident at Mile 1 and Business 83.
The Mercedes Police Department, Mercedes Fire Department, EMS and Mercedes ISD Safe Schools department responded quickly. There were 15 students onboard and all students were assessed by EMS, and no injuries were reported. Students were transported to the Mercedes Academic Academy where administration assisted as students were picked up by their parents.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of paramount importance to Mercedes ISD. We are cooperating fully with local law enforcement agencies to investigate the accident.
