MERCEDES, Texas – The Mercedes ISD Office of Safe Schools held its Spring Safety & Security Committee meeting this week, bringing together district leaders, law enforcement partners, and community members to discuss ongoing safety initiatives and collaborative efforts.
The meeting served as an important platform for sharing insights, addressing concerns, and strengthening partnerships in support of school safety. Key discussion points included an update on the district’s use of the Sentinel system, a Texas Education Agency (TEA) initiative designed to collect and manage school safety and security information, as well as a briefing on emergency coordination between Mercedes ISD and local first responders during the recent storm.
